George Lucas has decided to expand further the Star Wars universe. Indeed a new 3D CGI animated TV series based on the famous franchise has been created by Lucasfilm Animation and Lucasfilm Animation Singapore.

Star Wars The Clone Wars is set in the fictional Star Wars galaxy, during the same time period as the 2003 Star Wars: Clone Wars series. Each episode will have a running time of 22 minutes.George Lucas said that there will be at least 100 episodes. The premiere of Star Wars The Clone Wars, the TV series, is slated for fall 2008.

But a feature film will released in theater on August 15, 2008 to kick off the series.

I have mixed feelings about this new Star Wars show. On one hand I'm kind of glad at the idea of a recurring show that will dwell on Star Wars, but on the other hand I think I could swiftly get bored at watching it...

Besides the 3D imagery does not shine for its quality in Star Wars The Clone Wars. It does look cheap, don't yout think? Even the old Reboot, the Canadian CGI animated series aired during the second half of the 1990's, look better...

To a certain extent I fell like George Lucas is over-exploiting the dedication of Star Wars diehard fans!

Anyway, shall see if I get caught by the plot of Star Wars The Clone Wars!
